I am a graphic designer now based in Birmingham. After graduating from Nottingham Trent University with a degree in graphic design, I worked for a number of design agencies in the North West. After five years of working for other people, I decided it was time to branch out on my own.

Working with my brother, we started an agency in East Lancashire out of a back bedroom, just as so many agencies do. The business had a diverse roster of clients, from local companies looking for a new logo to large public sector organisations. Some of By 2015, I was looking for a change, so my partner and I decided to move to Andalucia, Spain. We experienced life in a small rural town surrounded by olive groves and also lived in the beautiful city of Granada.

In 2021, post-COVID, we bought a motorhome to travel Europe and spent 18 months on the road. In 2022, we decided it was time to come back ‘home’. Our new home is in Birmingham, to be closer to family. The move to Birmingham has also reignited my love of designing.

For me, good design is about visually communicating a message or idea effectively. It balances aesthetics, functionality, and user experience, using elements like colour, typography, imagery, and layout. It simplifies complex concepts, evokes emotions, and guides viewers. It's memorable, cohesive, and aligns with its intended audience and purpose. It's a blend of creativity and strategy that leaves a lasting impact.
