Professional Footballers' Association players handbook
The Project
The PFA's Footballers' Guidebook for football players serves as a comprehensive resource, offering invaluable insights into contract negotiations, financial planning, and mental health support. It educates players on their rights, empowering them with knowledge about legal matters and post-career transitions. This guidebook is an essential tool, for enhancing players' well-being and professional development.
Many young players are barely out of their teens when they enter the world of professional football for the first time. The PFA asked for the design to have all the content presented in a way that was both informative and accessible. I suggested we use the familiarity of the comic strip, a graphic style that many players would have been familiar with in their younger years. And which has a rich history of football-related comics in the likes of 'Roy of the Rovers'.
